Origin: They are native to Southwest Indian states of Karnataka and Kerala where it’s been collected from the Netravati, Chalakudy and Kallada river basins. They can be found in sluggish flow rivers with muddy substrate or clear, rocky, flowing stretches between the numerous waterfalls.
